Chains!

Do you guys watch a lot of youtube tutorials and random videos? I definitely do! I actually may be watching WAY too much, but hey, sometimes I feel uncreative and need some inspiration! Well here is one that I saw from a youtuber: JulieG713. She did a nail tutorial on gold link chains on the nails and I thought I would try it out myself! This is how it turned out:

The purplish color I have on my nails is called Socialite by Ulta. I used two coats of this polish.

I went to dinner with a bunch of friends the day after I did this manicure and got so many compliments! It is also a great conversation starter! But unfortunately, those chains annoyed the frick out of me and I ended up picking at the chains then riping them off (I am so violent RAWR). I think it was just a bit too unusual for me to have something so thick and bulky on my nails. If you can handle it though, I would definitely suggest you try it out!

What do you think?

ps. I just wanted to say a huge shout out and happy birthday to my friend Stefan. He obviously doesn't read my blog, but that's okay, its the thought that counts ;)

Swatches and Comparison pt3

More swatches! Aren't you impressed that I'm keeping this up? haha :D I'm so proud of myself!

FLASH!

Essie vs. Ulta
(L to R): Essie Tart Deco, Ulta Peach Parfait, Tart Deco, Peach Parfait
3 coats of each here.

UGH, I hate how the camera distorts the color sometimes. This is one of them. If I put the camera on flash, the colors look too pink and if the camera isn't on flash, the color is too orange. BLAH. I think the actual color is the blend between the two pictures between flash and no flash.

Anyways, as you can see, the colors are very similar. Tart Deco is just a tiny bit more pink and Peach Parfait is more..well, peachy. I think Ulta makes a lot of nice dupes of colors. Although its not my favorite polish, it is definitely not bad, especially for the price and all the sales that they have. I love sales! :) haha

Hope you guys are all doing well! <3

Swatches and Comparison pt2

So most of the comparisons that I am doing is with nail polishes from the haul post I did a while back.

Essence vs. Ulta

(From right to left): Essence No more Drama, Ulta Vintage Violet, No More Drama, Vintage Violet
This is 2 coats of each.

I am definitely eyeing the Essence polish more, although I love both. I'm not the biggest pink fan and the Ulta polish has a pink tint to it, but it's still gorgeous! This is also my first essence polish, and I am definitely not disappointed! Application was pretty smooth and the color is awesome! :)

Hope you guys are having a good one! <3

New At This

I still consider myself fairly new to this beauty community (both starting a blog and doing nail art) so I don't have that manicures I can post up. Most of my nail polish collection are also fairly old (and by that I mean, I'm not too updated on new collections since I am a broke college student :[ ) so swatching my nail polish collection might be hilarious since I would  be doing swatches of pretty old polishes.
More Reason Why I Don't Swatch:
  • My nails are naturally pretty weak and if I were to keep putting nail polish on and removing with nail polish remover, my nails would thin out to a paper like thickness and that would be no bueno.
  • The smell of nail polish remover is absolutely horrific. I wish they made nail polish remover that didn't have such a strong scent, if anyone sees this and knows of one, PLEASE let me know.
  • Again, I don't have as many polishes as all these awesome gurus out there do, so people may just laugh at me....Although, I think getting addicted to nail polish is something I am slowly reaching. I have probably doubled my nail polish collection since the beginning of the summer. GAH, so much money!
I hope I can continue to post of pictures of nail art, not sure often I can upload since I don't change my nail colors everyday. I do have some pictures of manicures I have done in the past that I might just post up! So I guess here is one:

Not sure when exactly I did this manicure, I know it was sometime in August. I quite like this design. Very simple and elegant! :) The color I used in this is Ulta's Celebutante. I don't think this picture shows the true color. It is more purple than the blueish hue shown in this picture.

If anyone is reading any of these post, comment and make my day! :) Feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to make my blog more awesome ;) haha Have a good one! <3
